Croatia is well known for her numerous churches
Some of the churches date back to Roman times, like this temple in Pula

Euphrasian Basilica in Poreč was built in 6th century during the period of Bishop Euphrasius, on the site of the older basilica
It has been  inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1997.




Church of St. Donat in Zadar was built in the 9th century, and because of it’s shape it is one of the most important buildings of that kind in Europe

St. Lawrence cathedral in Trogir is a Roman Catholic cathedral built between the13th and 17th century
It is part of the historic core of Trogir which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

 

St. Mark's Church in Zagreb, built in 14th century, is place where the meetings of the Zagreb City Council are being held
 On the roof, tiles are laid so that they represent the coat of arms of Zagreb and Triune Kingdom of Croatia, Slavonia and Dalmatia.


Zagreb Cathedral is probably the most famous building in Zagreb, as its spires can be seen from many locations in the city.
It was built in the 13th century
In 1880, the cathedral was damaged in an earthquake

Varaždin cathedral, a former Jesuit church, was built in 1647, and is distinguished by its baroque entrance, eighteenth-century altar, and paintings.
