Cibali High School is a government school in Eminönü a district of Istanbul in Turkey. This is the heart of the walled city of Constantine, the focus of a history of incredible richness. Eminönü covers the point on which the Byzantine capital was built. The Galata Bridge crosses the Golden Horn into Eminönü and the mouth of the Bosphorus opens into the Marmara Sea. And up on the hill stands Topkapı Palace, the Blue Mosque (Sultanahmet Camii) and Hagia Sophia (Aya Sofya). Thus Eminönü is the main tourist destination in Istanbul. It was a part of the Fatih district until 1928 which constitutes the peninsula of old Istanbul peninsula, which was formerly Constantinople. Thus, there are a lot of historical places and cultural diversity around our school.

Our school was established in 1936, as Cibali Secondary School in the building which is called Kaptanpaşa Kiosk in Fatih district of İstanbul.

Our school was named after Cebe Ali, who was a brave fighter of Fatih Sultan Mehmet, and fought during the conquest of Constantinople and died there. Faith Sultan Mehmet named the place, where this brave fighter had become a martyr, after him; Cebe Ali. And by time, this name has changed into Cibali among people.

After the fire at Kaptanpaşa Kiosk, the school moved to Atatürk Primary School on Atatürk Boulevard in 1953. In 1069, the school moved to its new and present building on Vefa Street and became a high school. It gave education just for female student at ages between 12-18 (secondary + high school).

In 1984, male students were also taken, and Cibali High School became a mixed school as it is today.

Cibali High School still educates its students at the same building on Vefa Street with its great teacher staff.
